Sailors in Poseidonis used to call her Assassiren, but her real name is Kaira, an orphaned mermaid from Atlantis, but lived near human ports, where many ships have passed. Assassiren scuttled the ships by perforating their boats with her lance, waiting for the sailors to drown and steal their food and necessities. She did this to support herself and her 13-year-old sister. The Poseidonis fleet repeatedly organized raids to capture her but never successfully.
